The company was incorporated in 2005 by general partners: Dr. C.G. Wang, CEO of Nanodynamics-88, and Mr. Kevin Donegan, CEO of Amtrade. Donegan is the president and CEO of C9 and Dr Wang is CTO. The company is privately funded and currently in discussions with prospective business partners.

The company has several ongoing contracts with defense contractors and military agencies, and has commercial agreements underway, to provide advanced semiconductor materials and devices.

Shown below is the new 107,000 sq. ft. building located in NYSERDA's STEP Park, Malta, New York which houses C9's new factory facilities.
